Cannabis and Hemp Testing Services

Who We Are

Potency Testing
Accurate determination of cannabinoid concentrations in cannabis and CBD samples is one of the important components of cannabis & CBD testing. We determine 17 different cannabinoids, including Δ9-THC, Δ8-THC, THCA-A, THCV, CBD, CBDA, and quantify the level to a specific amount. Our Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography delivers the highest accuracy that you can rely on. Express reports are available.

Terpene Analysis
Terpene analysis is crucial for differentiating between strains of cannabis, as terpenes have a major influence on the medical and psychological effects of a plant. In fact, the relationship between cannabinoids and terpenoids, known as the “entourage effect,” ultimately distinguishes one strain of medical cannabis from another. We use Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection and Headspace Analysis (HS-GC-FID) to analyze 23 terpenes. The compounds are extracted, identified, and quantified, and results are reported in mg/g and total percentage.

Residual Solvents
We offer cannabis residual solvent testing to make sure your products — such as wax, liquids, oils, pills and edibles — are safe for consumer consumption. With our residual solvent testing, you can be sure that your cannabis concentrates are free of all impurities. We use industry-leading technology such as gas chromatography flame ionization detector, GC-FID/ headspace analysis to monitor the ppm levels of solvents and identify harmful contamination levels in raw materials.

Pesticide Screening
Pesticides are used in commercial cannabis grow operations to kill insects that thrive on cannabis plants. Pesticides are carcinogenic and mutagenic, causing serious harm to cannabis consumers. We offer comprehensive pesticide screening and confirmation utilizing Ultra High Performance (UPLC) Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (MS/MS). We test pesticides on a variety of matrices, such as flowers/plants, derivative products and edibles.

Moisture Content or Water Activity
Hemp and cannabis plants need water to grow and thrive. Plants with moisture levels above 12% are at risk for fungi, mold, bacteria, and insects, which can make cannabis plants unsuitable for extraction and unsafe for ingestion. We analyze moisture content or water activity using a water activity meter. Water activity is the measure of the free water in a sample and is correlated with a product’s ability to support the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. Results are reported in Aw and range from 0 to 1. Pure water would have an Aw of 1.0. The higher the value in your product, the more potential for microbial growth.

Microbiological Analysis
The conditions for the growth of cannabis are ideal for the germination of microorganisms and bacteria. If cannabis is not tested properly, it may contain microorganisms that can be detrimental to human health. We use the latest technologies to rapidly quantify and detect different species of bacteria and fungus in your product. We test several microorganisms, such as yeast and mold, total Coliform, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., and different strains of Aspergillus.

Heavy Metal Analysis
Cannabis absorbs heavy metals from the soil, water and air. The heavy metals can be passed from the plant to the consumer and pose serious health risks. We analyze several heavy metals, such as Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, and Mercury. We use a high powered microwave digestion system followed by Atomic Absorption (AA) spectroscopy to provide the robustness and sensitivity necessary to test trace metals at sub-ppb or parts per trillion (ppt) levels. Our validated methods provide you with highly accurate and reliable results.

Mycotoxin Analysis
Mycotoxins are contaminants that naturally occur in molds and fungi, which decompose organic matter. You can also find mycotoxins in cannabis flowers and its derivative products such as oils, edibles, and tinctures. We use Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) to analyze mycotoxins. We test cannabis and cannabis products for various mycotoxins, such as Aflatoxin B1, Aflatoxin B2, Aflatoxin G1, Aflatoxin G2, Ochratoxin A. It is imperative that your product is tested for mycotoxins to meet the regulatory requirements and to ensure the safety of your products as they can cause disease and death when consumed.

Micronutrient Analysis
Plants extract many elements from the air, water and soil which are essential for nutrition and growth. We measure the micronutrient levels of cannabis to determine the cannabis plant nutrient balances in the cultivation process to ensure a healthy plant. We perform tests on a variety of matrices, such as flowers or plants, derivative products and edibles. We analyze several micronutrients, such as Aluminum, Boron, Copper, Magnesium, Titanium, Zinc, and many more.
